5 Home Remedies For Cough
Coughing is one of the most frequent health problems we got. Coughing happen when our brain recognizes there is a blockage or irritation in your throat or upper air passages due to the foreign element. Brain tells our body to remove that element by coughing. 1. Tumeric
Turmeric has a therapeutic effect on cough, especially dry cough. You can try a simple recipe below.
- Make an herbal tea. Add one teaspoon of turmeric powder and one teaspoon of carom seeds. Mix them together in a cup of water. Boil the water until it reduce to half cup of water. Finally, add one teaspoon of honey and drink it twice a day.
- Add one teaspoon of honey, black pepper and turmeric powder in a half cup of water. If you want, you also can add together cinnamon sticks. Boil the water for 2-3 minutes. Drink the water daily until your cough quiet down.
2. Ginger
- Take a fresh ginger and cut it into small slices and crush it. Put all the crush-slices ginger into a cup of water and boil it. Drink this solution 2 to 3 times a day for relief. This water can help put away your sore throat, non-stop coughing and congestion.
- If you have busy lifestyle, you can just chew fresh ginger throughout the day to reduce your cough.
3. Lemon
Lemon have a property which can reduce the inflammatory effect and also provide vitamin C to fight the infection. You can use lemon in a various way to reduce coughing.
- You can make a simple cough syrup by combining two tablespoons of lemon juice and one tablespoon of honey altogether. Heat the solution until warm. Drinks this syrup several times a day until your cough subsides.
- Another method you can use lemons is by blending a teaspoon of honey with lemon juice. Also, add together a pinch of cayenne pepper and drink the water.
4. Garlic
Garlic has special properties that can act as antibacterial and antimicrobial component, thus help to treat your cough.
- Take three cloves of garlic and put it in a cup of water and boil it. Add also a teaspoon of oregano. Then, cool down the solution until it reaches room temperature and add some honey. Drink it. This water helps your breathing and ease your cough symptoms.
5. Onion
- This is the simplest home remedies you can do to relieve your cough. Just cut the onion and take a breath deeply the strong vapor release from an onion. This helps you to stop coughing.
- Another remedy is combing one-half teaspoon of onion juice and one teaspoon of honey. Ingest this solution at least twice a day for full effect.
